The Spice Island:
On Saturday the downtown market is bustling with tourists, locals and vendors. The market features arts, handicrafts and the usual assortment of tourist souvenirs.

The colourful market offers a selection of goods for everyone
At the market you can purchase spices for your own kitchen including: nutmeg, mace, cinnamon, allspice, cloves and turmeric. Tamarind and cocoa grow in abundance, as do local favourites including coffee, calaloo, plaintain and breadfruit.

Grenada is the number two producer of nutmeg in the world.
In addition to spices, locally grown fruits and vegetables, the market features fresh seafood, including swordfish, snapper, tuna and lobster.
