A mixture of culture:

With a stable democratic government within the British Commonwealth, Grenada uses Eastern Caribbean dollars which is linked to the US dollar; US currency is readily accepted almost anywhere on the island. This island has a strong history with both France and England, who regularly battled for possession in previous centuries.


A military remnant from Grenada's colonial past

Grenada achieved its independence in 1974 after two centuries of British rule. The influences of both European cultures linger, with French names still in use for many areas of the island, the English love of cricket and soccer entrenched with the populace and examples of both countries' influence in architecture. Grenada was one of the hosts of the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup held in the West Indies.
